Get 'on yer bike' down to social fundraising project BikeStart, says Leo Docherty MP

BikeStart, based at Browning Barracks in Aldershot, is a social bike project raising funds for local charity The Source Young People's Charity. The project provides a sustainable source of income by refurbishing donated bikes for sale, and as a centre offering servicing, repairs and maintenance training.

The Source Young People’s Charity is an inclusive local Christian charity based in Aldershot. They enable young people to transform their lives through our bespoke one-to-one programmes of support including anger management, counselling, life coaching, mentoring and support for young parents.

They support and empower young people aged 14-25 living in the Boroughs of Rushmoor and Hart and surrounding areas, particularly those who are: isolated, vulnerable, struggling at school, in trouble with the law, have challenging family relationships, are homeless, in care, live on their own or are young parents.

Leo said: "I was so pleased to be able to drop by, meet the team, and thank them for this vital fundraising that supports vulnerable young people throughout our community. You can browse their store, with recycled bikes at incredible prices, on eBay."

Ellie Jones, Director of The Source, said: "Through the kindness and generosity of local people donating their bikes, The Source is able to support and empower more local young people to transform their lives."
