Leo Docherty MP is delighted to announce that he will once again be running his annual Primary Schools Christmas Card Competition for local schools across Aldershot, Farnborough, Blackwater and Hawley.
He hopes, after such a tough year for us all, the competition will help spread some much needed cheer across our local community.
This year’s theme is: “The Magic of Christmas”.
Leo said: "I am overwhelmed each and every year by the artistic talent of young people across Aldershot, Farnborough, Blackwater and Hawley.
That's why I am so pleased to be running my Christmas card competition again this year, and very grateful to Viasat UK for sponsoring it.
"As we approach the half term holidays, it's also an opportunity for local schoolchildren to get creative. I can't wait to see the entries!"
Leo has written all local infant and junior school Headteachers inviting their pupils to take part in this year's competition. Last year he received hundreds of designs during the course of the competition, and so hopes to receive many excellent designs again this year.
This year’s winning entry will feature as the design of Leo's official card alongside the name, class and school of the winning pupil. This card will be sent to hundreds of individuals and organisations across the constituency, many of whom Leo works closely with as the local MP, including community groups and businesses.
Leo has run the contest every year since he was first elected in 2017.
How can you take part?
All entries should be sent to or dropped off at Leo's office at 147 Victoria Road, Aldershot GU11 1JW by Friday 20th November 2020. You must include the child's full name, age and year group, and school.
To be considered for the official card design, the entry should be on A4 or A5 paper and easily scanned so our local printers can reproduce it for the final product. You can see above some examples of last year's entries.
If you have any questions about the competition, please get in touch with Senior Parliamentary Assistant, Calum Stewart on 01252 377567 or at leo.docherty.mp@parliament.uk.
