To mark Armed Forces Day this year, Prom in the Park was back again at Princes Gardens, and ended in it's usual flag waving fashion, with traditional Last Night of the Proms favourites; Rule Britannia, Jerusalem, and Land of Hope and Glory.
Organised by Rushmoor Borough Council, and sponsored by local businesses and organisations, the concert included performances from Rushmoor Concert Band, Farnborough Band of the Royal British Legion and local classical singer Toni Nunn. Aldershot Garrison Commander, Lt. Col. Nick Burley, delivered a thank you speech to all attending.
Commenting, Leo said:
"On Armed Forces Day, we thank the men and women who dedicate themselves each and every day to the protection of our country. It was fantastic to mark the occasion in Princes Gardens this afternoon for Prom in the Park.
"Great performances from all musicians and entertainers. Thanks to Rushmoor Borough Council for organising a fitting tribute to our serving personnel and veterans."
