The Bula Festival has returned to Aldershot for another year, celebrating the role members of the Fijian and South Pacific communities play in our Armed Forces.
The festival started with a traditional Fijian welcome ceremony and a Service of Remembrance, with Leo Docherty MP in attendance with the Mayor of Rushmoor and the Fijian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Jitoko Tikolevu.
The festival runs from Friday 4 August to Sunday 6 August, and there is a packed programme with something for all to enjoy, whether that's the rugby 7's tournament, the rock climbing wall, the craft stalls, or even the beer tent.
Commenting, Leo said:
"It was an honour to be invited to this year's Bula Festival at Aldershot Garrison to celebrate the contribution that the Fijian and South Pacific community make to our country.
"As His Excellency Jitoko Tikolevu, the High Commissioner of Fiji to the UK, said during the Welcoming Ceremony, Fijian men and women display unwavering dedication, courage and a sense of duty in our Armed Forces."
