Leo Docherty MP hosted leaders of the local Nepali community at a special meeting at Number 10 Downing Street
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives of the Nepali community, including Rushmoor Conservatives Cllr Jib Belbase, Cllr Nem Thapa and local Conservative activist Suman Pun, to raise concerns and issues of importance. This included outstanding issues around Gurkha pensions and the delegates extended an invitation to the Prime Minister to visit Nepal to celebrate the strong ties between the two countries.
Commenting, Leo said: "I was extremely proud to welcome Jib, Nem, Suman and other Nepali leaders from the wider Nepali community to Number 10 Downing Street.
"We had a very positive meeting with one of the Prime Minister's advisors, discussing a wide range of issues important to the Nepali community in Rushmoor and across the country."
