Leo Docherty MP praises continued success of the UK's leading Sixth Form College in Farnborough
Local MP Leo Docherty was delighted to meet with Principle Catherine Cole at Farnborough Sixth Form College to discuss the college's continued success. Farnborough Sixth's most recent grades showed a pass rate of 99.1%, results that are on par with previous years and are sector leading.
Leo said: "Farnborough Sixth Form's fantastic continued successes are particularly impressive when you consider that the college hosts one of the largest sixth form cohorts in the country, at almost 4,000. Almost a third of all A level grades were awarded at either A* or A, way above the national average, with over 82.1% second-year taught courses graded A* to C."
There was also an opportunity for Leo to meet students as part of a Q&A organised by the Government and Politics Department.
Leo said: "Thank you to Nathan Scott, the department's Curriculum Manager, for hosting me at the college for a lively question and answer session with students. Great questions, and a wonderful opportunity engage with many young people with an active interest in politics and their community.
Best of luck to those students still sitting exams, and for A-level results day on Thursday 15th August."
