Leo, along with the Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council, Cllr Gareth Lyon, visited Rowhill Nature Reserve, where a Habitat Bank is being set up to boost biodiversity.
The Habitat Bank is just one of the many examples of the Government's commitment to halt species decline by 2030, as well as improving England's natural environment.
Additionally, all major housing developments are required to deliver at least a 10% benefit for nature with England becoming the first country in the world to make Biodiversity Net Gain a legal requirement
Commenting on his visit, Leo said:
It was fantastic to visit the Rowhill Nature Reserve, which is one of the many beautiful green areas in Rushmoor that all residents can enjoy.
"I was glad to see that a Habitat Bank is being set up in the Reserve, in line with Government policy, so that future generations can continue to enjoy this magnificent part of our local area!"
