Leo visited local pharmacist, Mak Johal of the Chapel Lane Pharmacy, to find out how the Pharmacy First scheme is improving healthcare in Rushmoor.
The scheme gives community pharmacies an expanded role in providing routine primary healthcare and they can now offer NHS consultations and supply prescription-only medicines without a prescription from a GP for seven common conditions.
Commenting, Leo said:
It was great to meet with Mak at the Chapel Lane Pharmacy recently, where he discussed with me the benefits of the new Pharmacy First scheme.
"The scheme relieves the pressure on GPs and makes full use of the wealth of knowledge and expertise of excellent pharmacists like Mak, who has served the Rushmoor community for three decades."
