As our Armed Forces personnel transition from military to civilian life on leaving the service, it is important that this transition is as smooth as possible.
The British Forces Resettlement Scheme (BFRS) provides a dedicated service to help ex-military personnel transition to civilian life. Leo Docherty MP joined Aldershot Garrison Commander Lt. Col. Nick Burley at the BFRS Careers Fair at the Aldershot Garrison Sports Centre.
BFRS is a social enterprise that was established in 2009 by Harry Dean, a former Royal Navy officer. BFRS works in support of the Armed Forces Community, which includes service leavers, reserve forces, veterans, civilian MoD employees, partners and families.
Commenting, Leo said:
"Military service offers skills for life, so I was delighted to join yesterday’s BFRS Careers Fair.
"As part of our support to Armed Forces personnel looking to transition to civilian employment, wonderful to speak with a number of employers about skills and potential of ex-military personnel."
