Hampshire County Council has launched it's second round of the the Solar Together scheme, that allows residents to register for a solar panel group-buying scheme.
All residents living in one of the participating council areas and who own their own house (or have permission from the landlord to install a solar PV system) can register for the Solar Together scheme. Small and medium-sized enterprises (non-domestic) and Commonhold Associations meeting this requirement can participate as well.
By registering through Solar Together, this can help residents that are looking to install solar panels to get the best price available.
Cllr Roz Chadd, Hampshire County Councillor for Farnborough North and Executive Member for Hampshire 2050, said:
"“This scheme gives Hampshire homeowners confidence in their decision to make the switch to clean energy, and ensures installation is cost effective and straight forward.
“When it comes to climate change, any action we can take, big or small, will have an impact, so I’d encourage anyone able to invest in home solar panels to consider registering their interest by 27 October. Not only will they reap the rewards in terms of reducing energy bills, but they’ll generate and use green energy, shrinking our wider carbon footprint.”
Commenting, Leo Docherty MP said:
"For residents and SMEs interested in solar panels or battery storage systems, the Solar Together Hampshire scheme is worth considering.
"This is the second time that Hampshire are running this scheme, helping to make the switch to clean energy as cost-effective and easy as possible."
