One Punch Awareness Week runs from 20th September to 26th September this year to raise awareness about the devastating harm even a single punch can do in an assault.
One Punch UK was founded by Maxine Thompson-Curl and Anthony Curl after their son Kristian tragically died after a punch to head during a night out in September 2010. The charity focuses on educating about the risks and consequences a split second decision can lead to when engaging in violence, and condemns all forms of social violence.
The charity has held numerous workshops engaging with over 56,000 people, to provide education and awareness on the dangers of one punch assaults and sudden acts of violence.
Commenting, Leo said:
"Dehenna set-up the All-Part Parliamentary Group on One Punch Assaults, as tragically her own father was killed aged just 35, after a single punch hit him at exactly the wrong spot.
"Sudden acts of violence can lead to tragic consequences, and One Punch UK carries out amazing work spreading awareness and educating about the dangers of one punch assaults."
