Leo Docherty MP has welcomed news that the Aldershot Crematorium is to be upgraded after local Conservative Councillor secures cabinet approval
Aldershot Crematorium, built in the 1960s, has served generations of Aldershot and Hampshire families, and is now in need of refurbishment.
Conservative Cllr Maurice Sheehan, representing the Rowhill Ward, and the team saw an opportunity to both benefit the area through improvements to the external look and feel of the crematorium, as well as the need to improve and update the facilities inside to enhance the overall experience of those who come to mark the passing of a loved on. Maurice has worked hard to make the case for the improvements and has now secured approval from the cabinet at Rushmoor Borough Council, meaning works will go ahead.
Commenting, Leo said, "This is very good news for local families and all those who come to Aldershot Crematorium to celebrate the lives and mark the passing of those they have lost. Well done to Maurice for securing approval for these important improvements, which will benefit those who use the crematorium for decades to come - a sensible investment for the future."
