HAVE YOUR SAY: Plan to place asylum seekers in Pinehurst Hill Side, Farnborough

UPDATE: THIS SURVEY IS NOW CLOSED. IF YOU STILL WISH TO SHARE YOUR VIEW, PLEASE CONTACT LEO DIRECTLY VIA HIS 'CONTACT' SECTION ABOVE.

You will have seen reports in the media recently that there is a plan to place over 300 asylum seekers in Pinehurst Hill Side, Farnborough. Local residents were not consulted beforehand.

I am strongly opposed to this plan and do not believe that the building chosen to temporarily house asylum seekers is appropriate. I, in concert with the Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council, Cllr Gareth Lyon, and Empress Ward councillors, Cllr Marina Munro and Cllr Mike Smith, have lobbied the Home Secretary and Immigration Minister. We have highlighted the inappropriate choice of location and type of accommodation, as well as other factors that we believe make it entirely unsuitable.

I am pleased that the Home Secretary has paused the plan, pending review.

In the meantime, I want to hear your view.

I will be sharing the results of this survey with Home Office Ministers to ensure that they are aware of residents' views.
