Leo met with the Migration Minister, Tom Pursglove MP, in the House of Commons, and again made clear his strong opposition to the use of the Pinehurst Hill Side site in Farnborough to house over 300 asylum seekers.
Commenting after the meeting, Leo said:
I made very clear to the Minister that the choice of this site is entirely wrong and should not proceed. I also shared with him the views of the hundreds of constituents who have contacted me in the last few days, the vast majority of whom are very much opposed to it.
"I am grateful to the Minister for listening and for taking my view, and those of my constituents, on board. I am also glad that the pause on the plan, announced by the Home Secretary last Tuesday, remains in place. I will continue to make the case for the plan to be cancelled permanently."
Leo is encouraging all constituents to have their say on the Farnborough Asylum plan by completing his short survey here: https://www.leodocherty.org.uk/survey-asylum...
