Last night was obviously very tough and disappointing for all Conservatives in Rushmoor, and I particularly pay tribute to Cllr Marina Munro, Cllr Maurice Sheehan, Cllr Jib Belbase, Cllr Diane Bedford, Cllr Nem Thapa, Cllr Michael Hope, who lost their wards.
After the Government's announcement that defence spending will be increased to 2.5% of GDP by 2030, Leo has detailed what it'll mean for the people of Aldershot and Farnborough.
Following his appointment as the Minister of State for the Armed Forces in late March, Leo undertook his first official engagement at Aldershot Garrison.
Commenting, Leo said:
I was delighted to visit Aldershot Garrison in my first engagement as Minister for the Armed Forces.
Delighted to be back at the Ministry of Defence as Minister of State for the Armed Forces and joining a great Ministerial team.
"Looking forward to continuing the excellent work of James Heappey MP - championing our Armed Forces who keep us safe 24/7, at home and around the world!"
Rushmoor Borough Council has been refurbishing several play areas across our area in recent months, including the playground at Elles Close, Farnborough, which Leo visited recently.
